Summary:

When the function of a derived response includes a qualitative factor, you must enter values for each setting of the qualitative factor.

More Information:

Since qualitative factors are non-numeric they need to be handled in a special way in MODDE^®: To be able to use qualitative factors in a formula of a derived response MODDE^® needs to know a number to use in the formula for each settings of the factor. These numbers are specified in the dialog page where you specify the formula.
