Problem

Merge by primary observation ID during import (Q773)

The information in this article applies to:

SIMCA® 14

SIMCA® 13

Symptoms:

Selecting to merge side by side and by Primary ID does not give the expected result. The resulting merge is by primary ID and column number instead of just primary ID. This means that if the Primary ID is positioned in the same column for both datasets all is fine. If they are not, the new merged dataset is incorrect.

Workaround:

Merging at import is not necessary since SIMCA® 13 and later can use data from several datasets in the same model. The matching of data inside SIMCA® is made on Primary IDs and gives the expected result as long as the IDs in all datasets are identical.
