How to change the default time-out values for queries and connections to a ODBC data sources (Q737)

Summary:

The default time-out value for an ODBC query or connection might be too small. These values can be changed in the registry of the computer.

More Information:

The default time-out value is 15 sec for both ODBC connection and query. The time-out values can be changed individually in the registry by adding one new value for each time-out at the following location: HKCU\Software\Umetrics\simpler\1.0\DBWizard

ODBC Connection

For the ODBC connection time-out, add a DWORD value with the name ODBCConnectionTimeout. Set the value to decimal. The unit is seconds.

ODBC Query

For the ODBC query time-out, add a DWORD value with the name ODBCQueryTimeout. Set the value to decimal. The unit is seconds.
