Galactic spc-files time stamp incorrectly imported (Q840)

The information in this article applies to:

SIMCA®

Summary:

The time stamp for each spectra in Galactic spc-files is incorrectly imported in SIMCA® 14. In some cases, the time stamp is imported as 00:00:00.

Workaround:

Import the file in SIMCA® 13 and then open the project in SIMCA® 14.

Status:

In SIMCA® 14 the z-column was incorrectly read when it's unit was not seconds. That has been fixed in 14.1 but with a side effect: if the z-column is flagged as unit 'arbitrary' in the file, it is no longer perceived as date/time by SIMCA® 14.1.

More Information:

When importing Galactic spc-files in SIMCA® 13, the start time saved in the spc-file and provided to SIMCA® at import does not include seconds. As a result, all time points have an offset identical for all time points. This issue remains unresolved.
