Batch evolution variable plots are slow to open when a batch project has many workset batches (Q819)

Symptoms:

Batch evolution variable plots are very slow to open in the SIMCA®-online client. CPU utilization of the SIMCA®-online server is 100% on one processor core until the plot is opened in the client.

Cause:

The implementation of the batch level plot option "Show workset batches" incorrectly is used in the evolution level plot behind the scenes. This results in the server obtaining data for all batches in the workset, even though the plot does not show workset batches. This results in poor performance.

Workaround:

Open an affected project configuration.

  1. Go into File > SIMCA®-online Options, Plot options, click the Plot options tab.
  2. Locate the "Plot defaults - batch level category", and under it deselect "Show workset batches".
  3. Click OK to close the options dialog.

Note that this option (as all Plot Options) are per configuration and per client PC, so you have to make this setting on all affected PCs for all configurations.

Status:

This problem is fixed in SIMCA®-online 14.0 (Q846).
