Summary:

The marking tool is by default a dynamic 'lasso' whereby the user can select and mark non-square clusters of data. This is very useful in selecting certain data from others in a tight area. The tool can also be used in cooperation with the CTRL key. By selecting one group of data, then holding down the CTRL key, and selecting a second set - you can mark two sets of data simultaneously. This and other types of marking are available from the 'Select plot items' menu on the Marked Items tab.
